Most of the Yerukula people living in Andhra Pradesh have been allowed land for agriculture by the government and are making good use of these opportunities. Because of this, most of the Yerukula no longer practice their previous methods of earning money through fortune-telling and tattooing. Although Hinduism is the largest religion among the Yerukula, Christianity is on the rise among their communities.
