Brahmin. The Badhai people are no longer a part of the higher social status we once held due to the decrease of employment in our area of expertise, technical craftsmanship. We are deeply rooted in Hinduism and have the felt need for formal education opportunities in engineering.

   A large number of unreached Bakas live in the tropical forests of Central Africa. Bakas are forest dwellers and nomads. They follow an animistic tradition and are deeply superstitious. ER has engaged the Baka for more than a decade, establishing a 2-year Bible School among them.

Madahar, a Bedia of India, shared the following about being healed: “I went to the magicians but nothing they did made me well. The pastors were ready when we arrived. They prayed for me for 15 days straight. God heard their prayers. Within a few days I was completed healed. Now I myself pray from the heart.”

My people typically follow the Hindu faith as well as animistic traditions. Because we speak over 30 languages, linguistic barriers continue to be an obstacle to the spread of the gospel.

The great need for the Bhujar people is to hear the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.

   Though they maintain a distinct identity, the Bhumij belong to a group of related peoples called the Munda-Santal who live throughout northeast India. Typically, the Munda-Santal engage in agricultural livelihoods, as well as hunting and gathering. However, recent industrial development has provided some with increased job opportunities. The Bhumij consider themselves to have the highest social status among the Munda-Santal tribes. While each tribe may hold unique beliefs and values, most follow a mix of Hinduism and ethnic religions that center on a supreme, creator god.
